TONY HAWK FOUNDATION Launches East Coast Benefit For Public Skateparks - The Tony Hawk Foundation will expand its annual star-studded Activision Presents Stand Up For Skateparks benefit to include an event in Bridgehampton, New York on August 10. This exciting event is the foundation’s exclusive, family-centric, action-sports carnival that features a Vert Demo with Tony Hawk and a cast of top skateboarders and BMX pros on Tony’s personal ramp, as well as games, food, auctions, and music. SOURVEIN sign to Candlelight Records - Candlelight Records today confirms the signing of North Carolina-based sludge/doom metal band Sourvein. The popular five-piece on tour now through August 11 have recorded a special/limited edition EP titled Imperial Bastard which will see domestic release on September 30. It will be followed by the band's Billy Anderson-produced full-length label debut currently planned for release in early 2009. Formed in 1993, Sourvein relocated to Cape Fear, North Carolina after Hurricane Katrina ravaged their long-time home base. ALICE COOPER - There are only a handful of rock artists that have proven to be as enduring and influential as Alice Cooper has over the years. Name just about any hard rock artist, and they’ve probably borrowed a thing or two from Alice. And on his latest studio recording, ‘Along Came A Spider’ (issued via SPV Records on July 29), Alice has returned with a concept album with a sinister streak. Who else but Alice Cooper, with ‘Along Came A Spider,' would create a "love story" about a serial killer named Spider?
