FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - “Skateboarding is green,” says Gravity CEO Michael Bream. While skateboarding is one of Bream’s favorite pastimes, a dual passion for him is inventing new ways to make skateboards even more earth friendly than they inherently are. With few moving parts and zeros emissions, Bream’s “green” statement makes one realize that skateboards are miles ahead of internal combustion transportation systems in reducing greenhouse gases and holding down smog. Founded in 1994 on Bream’s strict environmental code, Gravity has always used water-based inks, recycled wooden racks and banners made from organic materials such as jute, hemp and canvas. Everything, including packaging is recycled. Recently the company jumped numerous green steps forward with four unique innovations including two new types of Natural Fiberglass Earth-Fibe and Eco-Tech, plus Enviro-Gripe grip tape made entirely from recycled glass bottles and fastened to the boards with non toxic water-based urethane. Finally, V-lam is a new technology from Gravity, turning birch scraps into some of the most resilient and cool looking skateboards on the market. Scrap wood, which is normally put into the trash, now goes to make a stronger skateboard, not only offering longer board life, but also improving the look to your ride. The result is better skateboards and more trees. V-Lam is currently available in our 27” Mini and our 42” Spoon Nose. For more information, visit Gravityskateboards.com
