NIKE NEWS - Since both Lance Mountain and Craig Stecyk are big fans of the Blazer and since they have a history of working together, Nike figured it couldn't hurt to see if they wanted to collaborate again. But asking them to simply color up a shoe would be a doing a disservice to the skaters of the world. What started with a simple conversation over a year ago between old friends grew into a project that includes some of Craig's original artwork, a zine, a short film and of course the actual footwear and apparel that they worked on. MARSH SKATEPARK NEWS - The Landskate Crew of Marsh Skate Park in partnership with the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust, invite you to participate in the first anniversary/skate exhibition to raise funds for needed improvements for Marsh Skate Park. The event will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2008 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Your sponsorship and contributions will help make the dream come true of the many kids who skate at the park who are also building skills through organizing monthly meetings, volunteering for outreach efforts, and educational opportunities in the future. HIGHVALLEY SKATEPARK NEWS - Highvalley Skatepark is going to be built in 2009 and ready to shred for 2010. The Skatepark is going to be the biggest in Europe with about 10.000 qm concrete for all styles of skateboarding plus in connection a 900m longboard and a 650m downhill slope. The Stockholm City has decided to support it with about $ 4,500,000. Stefan Hauser @ PTR Skate has designed the park. More info at www.highvalley.se
VOLCOM WITP CHAMPIONSHIPS - Volcom WITP championships in Amsterdam - A great day with a lot of gnarly skating. Due to Danny Leon being taken to hospital after a fall, the 16 and over skaters voted to not skate their final. Their final placing was taken from the qualifying order.

AST DEW TOUR ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FOR ORLANDO'S PLAYSTATION PRO EVENT, OCT. 16-19 - The AST Dew Tour today announced the schedule of events for its final event of the season, PlayStation Pro, October 16-19 at Orlando's Amway Arena. More than 150 of the world's top skateboard, BMX and freestyle motocross athletes will compete in Orlando for the fifth and final stop of the 2008 season.

PODIUM DISTRIBUTION NEWS - Torrance, California-based Podium Distribution has just expanded both its walls and its employee base. The company recently acquired the 21,000-square-foot office space adjacent to its existing 955 Francisco Street address. According to Podium VP Brian Dunlap, the extra space was long overdue. 'Since our move here in 2000, we've added tons of new employees,' says Dunlap. 'Our once nice work environment turned into more of a crammed work environment. Taking over the new building has allowed us to re-create that nice workspace we had before. We've also made the strategic business decision to put Galaga in the lunch room.' In addition to the new offices, the company has allotted a 4,800-square-foot area to serve as its skateboard training facility. 'We're stoked to finally have a great place for our riders to come and skate,' says DVS Skate Team Manager Gabe Clement. Erik Ecklund will serve as Domestic Sales Manager for DVS and Lakai. ASIAN BEACH GAMES - Surfing included in the 1st Asian Beach Games - Olympic Surfing? Soon to be a reality! A major action sports festival, including many sports not on any 'normal' Olympic calendar and backed by the Olympic Committee of Asia (OCA) will fire up in Bali from October 18-25 this year. The 1st Bali Asian Beach Games, after great efforts by the Indonesian Surfing Federation (ISF) members in Bali, President Bobby Radiasa, National Secretary Oom Arya, Pro Tour Manager Tipi Japric, will include surfing under the Olympic rings.
