NEW CLAUS GRABKE MODEL

NEWS FROM CLAUS GRABKE - Here's the first Shot of the new 'TITUS SKATES Claus Grabke Model'. In 1980 TITUS SKATES became my very first board-sponsor and after more than 20 years and after Model-Boards on POWELL PERALTA, MADRID SKATEBOARDS, and SANTA CRUZ SKATEBOARDS I am now back on TITUS SKATES! I still skate, I never stopped, just quit my sponsors around 1993, because I just wanted to skate for myself and didn't want to get caught up too much in the business side of the Skate-Industrie! Anyways, I was approached by a couple of Companies in the Meantime and finally decided to give in and bring out a Board again! The attached Photo was taken by Jim Gray, right after he personally made these decks at ABC...the purple deck is the 7,6 and the pink deck is the 8,25 version of the board! graphics by Jimbo Phillipps, son of Jim Phillipps, who did my original SANTA CRUZ graphics! I'm excited and just wanted to share the news with everyone! For anyone interested in what I do these days, please go to: www.alternative-allstars.de...

PODIUM SKATE NEWS - A few of the boys headed down to South Beach Miami to film for the video. Chico Brenes, Mikey Taylor, Daniel Castillo, and Jeron Wilson hit plenty of spots and were able to get some footy even with some bad weather. Mikey and Eric Bork had their room broken into, luckily all things are replaceable. Another Slam City Jam and Jereme Rogers, Chico Brenes and Kerry Getz were able to make the trip. Peter from Supra set up an autograph signing with one of the local shops and about 300 or so kids showed up for an autograph. Steve Berra is back on the stick and he is excited about filming for the video. Keep a look out for Berra on the DVS site in the blogs, he will be joining us in the next film trip. Daewon Song, one of the hardest workers in the biz, is nominated for the Readers Choice Award in the Transworld Skateboard Awards. He is up against Mark Appleyard and P.J. Ladd. Daewon is the man! Go vote for him. Keith Hufnagel will be featured in 411VM # 65 with a Check Up section. Check out what Huf has going on up in the best city on the West Coast (San Francisco if you didn't know). Keith is also busy filming for the Skate More video. Staying consistent with the top 10 in contest, we have Mr. Rick McCrank placing again! Rick placed 7th at Slam City Jam, congrats Rick! Van Wastell has signed on with Matix for two more years, I got the contract today! Van has been busy up in SF filming for the Krooked vid. Biebel is hanging in the heat up in Sac Town. As we all know, Biebel is a heavy Kings fan but he did take their elimination like a man. Manual down to your local skate shop and check out his new deck from Girl Skateboards.... On the weekend of May 15th, Rick Howard, Mike Carroll, Marc Johnson, Scott Johnston and Danny Garcia headed for the high altitude of Denver, CO via Albuquerque, NM for a three day demo tour. Look for photos from the trip at both lakai.com and crailtap.com. Beginning on July 1, Rick, Mike, Jeff Lenoce, Anthony Pappalardo and Danny Garcia will all be heading up to Canada for a 10 day tour that spans most of Eastern Canada. Quebec City will be the starting point with Oshawa, Ontario (outside of Toronto) being the trips final destination. Check lakai.com soon for dates and details. Rob Welsh has finally been cleared for takeoff after many a long ride on his track back down Recovery Road. It's been almost 7 months since Welsh went under the knife to repair a torn ACL, and although he's still not ready for big spin fakie manuals at the pier, he's already been spotted getting re-acquainted with his nollies. He's as skate-minded as they come, so it won't be long until he's back at 100%. Cairo foster has been on a Popwar tour in Europe for almost three weeks now and there's no indication that he will be home any time soon. Last we heard from him, he had just arrived in London after a week in southern France. Rumor has it that he is scheduled to return to the US at the beginning of July.
