JUICE MAGAZINE LETTERS FROM THE PEOPLE
_________________________________________________________________ "Juice Mag is the zenith of the skateboarding universe." ________________________________________________________________ "Juice is the best skateboarding magazine I've ever seen and I've seen them all." _______________________________________________________________ "Got the mags yesterday, as usual another great issue! You guys do such a good job, the mag is full of killer stuff everytime!" - Ken Forsyth - Panama City, FL _________________________________________________________________ "I just wanted to let you know how much I think you rock! Your magazine is to me what Thrasher was 20 years ago. I think you provide a valuable resource to guys like me by covering the people, places and things that we relate to. If I have to look at another handrail slide or kickflip down a flight of stairs, I think I'll frikkin' puke. I'm always looking foward to the next issue of Juice and am grateful that you guys are keeping it real and not selling out." Peace, - Chris "CSkate" Stevens - Portland, OR _________________________________________________________________ "I just wanted to say thanks for the coverage in this issue of Juice. Glad to be apart of it. The article and photos looked great. Impressive issue all together. That interview by Jeff Ho of Strider is amazing. By the far the best interview style piece I have ever read. Strider really has a great head on his shoulders. That should required reading for any young surfer." - Kenny Onufrock - Wilmington, NC _________________________________________________________________ "I gotta say again I just finished Issue 57, cover to cover, and it's hands down the best skate mag I've ever read, and one of the better mags period in terms of just loads of interesting perspectives from loads of interesting people. (I used to do some writing/interviews myself and I always like what a friend once said, "All good writing is basically about people.") From the supercasual and yet super in-depth interviews (and TONS of them) to the stuff w/ the park builders to the rad interviews with George Clinton (off the hook) and Suicidal, it was great. Took like three weeks to get thru the whole thing, which is great. Thanks for the stoke and once again for proving that people are still putting out quality stuff." "Thanks a lot for the anniversary issue. It's always a big thrill to discover a new one ! You've raised a kind of Dream Team through the years and you're now so far away from other trivial publishers, that there's no comparison possible. Skaters will never thank you enough in this time of corporate bizness. Keep it pure!" - Claude Queyrel - Marseille, France "I seriously commend you on such a great fuckin magazine. Keep the old school interviews coming I wanna know what's happened to everyone one story at a time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Juice fuckin rules!" - Bruce Adams - Boulder, CO "The parcel arrived this morning! I'm over the moon about it! Information overload!! Amazing interviews, sick photographs; learning what's important and most importantly respect!! JUICE magazine is important- It rules!!! Job well done." - Oliver Beck - U.K. "Thanks for the V.B. coverage. Excellent magazine keep up the good work!" - Allen Midgette - Virginia Beach, VA "Juice Magazine is focused on pools, pipes and punk rock. It has some of the best in depth articles and interviews I've seen in a skate mag. An interesting aspect of the interviews is the thoroughness, from the first time someone stepped on a skateboard to what they're up to today. After reading one you really get the to know the person being interviewed. There's not much in the way of street skating, nevertheless everyone should enjoy it. The music section is packed with reviews and includes interviews of bands. Each issue has been packed with tons of great reading material, and if you're not into reading the photos are great as well." - Skateboard Reviews - www.harvestboards.com "The 10 year anniversary issue is jam packed and excellent, by the way. I'm still re-reading it. I like the fact that you guys had a wide variety of content. of course, I'm 38, so I always dig the 80's stuff too. tell whoever is responsible that they are doing a great job. The major mags mostly suck nowadays." - Randy - California "Hows it! I just got the Juice mags today and I'm super stoked. People are all ready buying them. The 10th anny is really good. Lots of actual reading. Keep it coming. I'm really happy to support your mag. There aren't too many good one's left." - Elliott - Frozen Ocean - Canada "HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!! Another fucking great issue! Peter Hewitt cover was my ________________________________________________________________ "Great, great stuff. This mag is the best thing there ever was. No doubt. What place can you find an intervew with Danny Bearer, Laird Hamilton, and Bo Diddley? I'm reading every word. Keep up the good work." - Steve Marinak "Hey Guys, Just wanted to let you know that I got the new issue in the mail on Friday and I spent all of the weekend reading it. Never in my years of reading skate magazines have I been so thoroughly entertained. I quite literally was freaking at every article and at one point I told my girlfriend that I was going to write just to let you guys know how much your magazine means to me. As a freelance writer and longtime skater/enthusiast I would like to extend my gratitude to you guys at JUICE. I know it sounds cliche' but if you ever needed a man on the east coast to do work for events or articles or whatever else, let me know. It would be an honor to help and support your magazine in any way I can. Thanks for everything!" - Jason Dove - Baltimore, MD _________________________________________________________________ "I received my Dogtown chronicles and the 10th anniversary issue. I can't wait to get future issues. Thanks so much to you and to the staff for putting out such an awesome publication! Terri must be an exceptional person to have kept this going for 10 years. Keep up the good work!" SK8 to live...live to skate." - Gina LaCava _________________________________________________________________ "Many large congratulations on your 10 year anniversary issue - 162 pages of great photos and stories, scads of advertising and page chats with Bo Diddley, George Clinton and Suicidal Tendencies! Come a long way and never forgot your East Coast beginnings, or your East Coast friends. That's important." - Mike Raab - publisher - The Beat Magazine _________________________________________________________________ "Keep up the good work. You guys are great. It's cool to see a magazine recognizing what we always considered true skating, as well as good music and stuff like that. I loved the Ian MacKaye interview! Steve Olson for President." - Joe Margiotta _________________________________________________________________ "I got my copy of the 10th anniversary edition of Juice and I am totally blown away. That thing is like a skateboarding tome!!! Your choice of interviewers and depth is something rarely seen in skating and I just wanted to let you know what an incredible publication you have going. I have something to read on the subway for the next few weeks. AWESOME." - Joe Popp - NYC "Thanks for sending me your last issue. It gets better everytime. I'm proud of you guys for keeping your magazine “for real” and not a controlled piece of shit. Skateboarding isn't just jumping over things or just pool riding for that matter. That's one of the cool things about skating. There's so many different ways to do it. I liked the Fletcher interview as well as Jason's. And I think surfing has a place in your magazine as long as you stay with the underground radical guys. Pro surfing is pretty fucking gay but not all guys who surf are “surfers” (if you know what I mean). With all the new bowls and skateparks that have been made recently, I believe skateboarding might even change back to where style made a difference. I'm sure the future rippers of our sport will get their start in the parks just like the pros of the past. Guys like Cab, Hosoi and Hawk all grew up in skateparks and I'm sure these new parks will produce many new future rippers of the same quality. Your magazine reminds me of Thrasher when it first started, when they did it outta love and not for the money. Keep up the good work and tell it like it is." "I checked out the new issue and it was downright superb! Excellent "I just finished reading the new issue and it was awesome. You people really outdid yourselves this time. I really appreciate the coverage of the skaters that I grew up with starting in 78 when I first touched a skateboard. The interview with Stacy Peralta was especially cool." - Eric Fortner - Hayward, CA "Holy freakin crap. First off, thanks for the subscription! Since Juice is really the only mag worthy of my money and time you can bet I'm stoked! Also the sticker is way sick. Thanks. 1. All Juice interviews are the best because you interview people who actually have something to say and not boring pros or kids who have yet to experience enough to have something to say. 2. Juice covers things I want that other shitty bandwagon mags won't even touch. Even “Thrasher” is 95% ledge-tech shit. Now I'm not gonna say I won't skate a ledge, curb, gap, or rail, but fuck, no one will even put a pool in the mag anymore! And if they do the whole article is maybe one page. Hell, I'm from Kentucky, I don't even get to skate real pools (maybe that's why I crave Juice so much). So anyway, your mag rules, your attitude rocks and your staff is deep with skateboard history and I really appreciate it. And I love the surfing too. Thanks." - Jeff Mozer - Stanton, KY _________________________________________________________________ "Juice Magazine is the coolest magazine out . I've purchased every one made and it has alot of cool articles. Keep it rollin "Dogtown" will never die." - Mark Zenter _________________________________________________________________ "I just want to say that your mag is a breath of fresh air in a world of _________________________________________________________________ "Your mag is the best in the business." - David Pillow _________________________________________________________________ "Juice is a lifesaver for me - the super long interviews and sheer amount of information in Juice has got me through many a long subway commute here in Japan. I have recommended it to many others to read as well. A top 5 of all time for sure - maybe the best ever. It's like the Surfer's _________________________________________________________________ "G'day guys. Dependably awesome work. I have just gotten through the first cover to cover read of the last issue and I must say again that it will be well reviewed until I can scope the next. I just can't get enough. Thanks again for making real skateboarding information available. You never fail to leave me speechless. You are the truth, the life and the hopeless skate-addicts lifeline to Utopia. Thanks again." - Barry Strachan - Australia _________________________________________________________________ SEND YOUR LETTERS TO JUICE MAGAZINE 2058 N. SYCAMORE AVE.
